Safety and Security Certification In order to continuously improve our operations ensuring the safety of our people, equipment and the environment, Cape Harrison Marine Corporation complies with and is certified under the International Safety Management (ISM) Code. International Safety Management (ISM) Code: Each of our Company’s five vessels have obtained their Safety Management Certification (SMC) under the International Safety Management (ISM) Code. Each of our Company’s Safety Management Certificates have been issued as a result of external audits by our Certifying Body – Lloyd’s Register of North America. Cape Harrison Marine’s Safety Management System (SMS) have met the requirements under the ISM Code which require our Company to document its management procedures and record its actions to ensure that conditions, activities and tasks, that affect safety, personnel and the environment, are properly planned, organized, executed, documented and verified. Our Safety Management System has been developed and implemented by the Company’s top level senior management and clearly defines responsibilities, authorities and lines of communication. Our Safety Management System allows our Company to measure its performance against a set criteria under the ISM Code, hence identifying areas that can be improved. International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code): Each of our Company’s five vessels have obtained their Canadian and/or International Vessel Security Certification under the ISPS Code. This international certification has been obtained and is monitored by Transport Canada. The objectives under the ISPS Code are to establish an international framework involving co-operation between Contracting Governments, Government agencies, local administration and the shipping and port industries to detect and/or assess security threats and take preventative measures against security incidents affecting our ships and/or the port facilities utilized by our vessels. |
